The largest airline of China will operate two weekly flights between the two destinations on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The new route was launched by China Southern and the Hoang Dat Silver Shores Exceptional International Entertainment Co., Ltd, the developer of the Crown International Casino opened late last month.
It is the third international direct route to Danang, after the Singapore – Danang route operated by Thai carrier Silk Air and the Taipei – Danang route by Taiwanese private airline TransAsia Airways.
Hoang Dat Silver Shores is also planning to open two new air routes connecting Danang with Chinese cities of Shanghai and Sanya.
The company expected the new air routes would bring some 80,000 passengers from China to the central city every year.
Danang is the fourth biggest city and third largest commercial port in Vietnam.
Early last year, low demand on the routes to and from the central coastal city resulted in the cancellation of almost all air routes linking the city with Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korea.
In 2008, China Southern Airlines was named the world's fifth largest airline by passenger carried and Asia's largest airline in terms of both fleet size and in passengers carried.
The Guangzhou-based airline serves more than 170 destinations throughout Asia and Europe.
